A Historic First for Missouri
For the first time in the United States, UNESCO Artist for Peace Luigi Toscano’s Lest We Forget enters Missouri classrooms. Inspired by a successful educational initiative in Germany, this pilot program launches in the Houston R-1 and Sedalia 200 school districts, expanding the exhibition’s impact beyond public spaces and into the next generation.
Learning Through Engagement
Students are not simply viewers — they become participants. Through guided dialogue, creative expression, and interactive projects, they engage deeply with survivor testimony and historical context. Educators ensure accuracy, thoughtful discussion, and age-appropriate exploration.
Carrying Memory Forward
By bringing Lest We Forget into schools, Missouri students take an active role in remembrance. They carry the lessons of history into their communities, helping to strengthen a culture grounded in dignity, empathy, and shared responsibility.
A Collaborative Effort
This educational initiative is funded by Bayer, spearheaded by Conversation Builds Character, and supported by the Missouri Holocaust Education and Awareness Commission — reflecting a shared commitment to education, remembrance, and civic responsibility.
